Trump and Zelensky talks fail to give the final breakthrough for the much awaited Peace in the region

US President Trump said about Zelensky: "This gentleman has worked very hard, and is very brave, and his people are very brave."

He added 'Russia Ukraine peace talks are in final stages,

Zelenskyy said he’d discuss issues of territorial concessions with Trump, which have so far been a red line for his country. He said his negotiators and Trump’s "have discussed how to move step by step and bring peace closer," and would continue to do so in the meeting.

Earlier, Trump said he had "productive" talks with Russia's Putin over the phone ahead of his meeting with Zelenskyy.

Russia gave a more pointed readout of Trump's talks with Putin, saying that the US leader agreed that a mere ceasefire "would only prolong the conflict" as it demanded Ukraine compromise on territory.
